In a previous post regarding the Mastro auction you stated this regarding the jerseys that SCDA wrote and letter on and now is pulling the letter:
"I could not agree more..The reason this shirts in the curent Mastro Auction were relooked is because they were not looked at as they should have been the first time."

Question how does and authenticator unproperly look at a jersey and issue a letter?

Only my thoughts...

Very good question. Not being invloved in looking at these items, I can only offer these thoughts based on the response Troy provided.

It would appear that imagery analyis was done on these shirts...In Troy's response he states what was found to be wrong with the items when they were re-looked. To me this implies that the error was not caused by inaccurate or incomplete informtion, but rather a failure check the shirts against available images from say Corbis, Getty images or some other source. This is more of a policy and procedure error vs one that is knowledge based.

The next question that is likely to be asked, is why was this not checked as it is simple enough to do? I don't know and there is no reason why it should not have been done.

MEARS policy is that this be done as a matter of course and the image(s) used to substantiate any opinion be recorded for future reference as well.
