Hi collector's i was wondering for recent years NFL game jerseys, there is sometimes tagging after the typical tagging like 02-46 Sometime there is an S tag next to the year and size tag. What does the S mean?

thanks

the letter after the year/size refers to the sleeve style requested by the player...could be cuffed sleeves, open sleeves, short lineman, or XL sleeves...different teams may use different designations but I have seen QB for open, S for cuffed and D for very short, cuffed lineman sleeves..and XL for...XL sleeves ....I believe this started around 1999...Hope this helps.

Jim, you must be drinking the Kool-Aid. The "S" stands for skill cut which is worn by RB's, WR's, and even some DB's.
