i do know why NFL players worn chuck taylors in 1920s-1950s
because there were football fields where they had few grasses and the ground was SO HARD for the players to wear cleats, remmy the cleats back then were longer and solid so their feet were in bad shape. The chuck taylors shoes were best wearable for them back then. One time, the NY giants played one of COLDEST game, they had to contact boston celtics or the new york knickerboxers to borrow their chuck taylor shoes at last minutes because the cleats cannot be worn on the FROZEN SOLID GROUND during pre game practice!!! The players tend to wear chuck taylor shoes when there is COLD weathered that caused the ground to be FROZEN or the ground being too solid to wear cleats.
hope it helps
i can give u more information of YEAR and which team that worn chuck taylor, what i gave was from my head
thanks;)
