Listen all you foolish collectors of these cards with a swatch of a supposed "game used" jersey in it. They are all a fraud! Stop buying them. I found out the hard way that all these jerseys that are sold to the card companies are game cuts. You might as well pick your teeth with them cause that is all they are worth. Another suggestion would be to possibly use them to scrape the crumbs to the edge of your kitchen table into your napkin. Or maybe just rip the piece of material out and use it to clean your eyeglasses. Ahhhhhh, I feel so much better now........
That is odd, I used to be around major auction houses years ago and I witnessed Upper Deck and Fleer bidding on game used jerseys. In fact, I sold these companies some jerseys back in the late 1990's. They were very concerned with "game use" and I believe they did their homework.
Just someone looking for trouble, another day on GameUsedForum.com

I have a nice hockey card with a piece of Alexei Yashin jersey...with a nice splotch of board paint right in the middle of it. Only thing that made me wonder is the fact that Yashin doesn't go into corners.
What, if any proof can you provide that backs up what you say. And obviously, for such a statement as this, you MUST sign in with your email address or I'm going to have to delete the thread.
If you have information to share, that's great, go ahead and sign in and tell us about it.
How did you "learn the hard way" that the jerseys in cards are frauds?
As I said before, please adhere to the rules of the forum and sign in when making comments such as these. I have no problem deleting your posts. Relax buddy.
Thank you
Eric

Simple, if you want to make comments that may lead collectors to not buy merchandise, back it up with facts and offer your email address so people can privatley email you questions about your aligations.
Otherwise, I find Eric's requests just as he is keeping the site honest.

Sal, I am confused. You made comments about all swatches of game used jerseys being game cut jerseys. What facts do you have to back this up before people stop buying these cards because of your comments that have nothing backing them up but your word?
Just wondering.

email me at ecky3@aol.com so i know you're writing from a valid email address. Then you can re-post your comments with the proof- can't just make blanket statements without backing them up.
Eric
Uh oh, Eric, you know you're in trouble when Sal signs off as Salvatore. That means he's serious.
Don't anybody make fun of me but my wife has tons of cute little nicknames for me. (Don't laugh, I'm sure the rest of you married slobs get called names like "honey bear" and "bon bon" all the time.)
All I'm saying is the very rare times when she calls me "Aaron", I know to run.
Not sure the proof, but let me give a little of my experience. I have sold various items to Upper Deck over the past few years. Most of these items were intended for cards, but some were for redemption giveaways. My experience shows that these companies act very responsible when obtaining game used items. In fact, I sent off 3 bats and 2 jerseys a few months ago to my contact, and they sent one of the bats back claiming they could not document that player using that style of bat in the year they were looking for. I was like "what?" The bat was good, no doubt! But, they were looking for a picture to go with it and they couldn't find it. They are also meticulous with game use. I thoughts things were a little fishy when my first sale to UD was for some pants! I thought these were going to be "jersey" cards, but they sent me one of each card they made for my help, and they were indeed "game used pants" cards.
I personally do not collect these items; however, these companies are paying a large sums of money for items, much more than collectors pay! I too have seen them at auctions. I am interested to see what proof Sal has or if he is just another passer through the forum!
Sal Is Incorrect With Regard to MeiGray-Contracted Teams
August 19 2005, 8:51 PM
Hello Sal,
The card companies have contacted and purchased directly from MeiGray when it comes to the teams with which we have contracts.
They have paid retail prices to ensure that they get legitimate game-worn jerseys from the Philadelphia Eagles, Texas Rangers, and the 22 NHL teams that participate in the NHL-MGG Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program.
What I find most appalling is the fact that a Lou Gehrig bat or a vintage jersey would be cut up into little pieces forever lost in history.
Anything for a buck. Graded cards, Inserts, graded bats and jerseys. Now a dealer can charge more for a Mario Mendoza bat that has a couple ball marks.
It's good to hear you were compensated well for your classic jerseys that went into Upper Deck's shredder. I'll sleep much better tonight with the knowledge that card companies are paying a premium to destroy baseball history and price collectors out of the pastime.
Apologies if I'm coming off a bit harsh (you putz), but I've always been a bit of a cut-up. Not as much as, Bill Dully of Donruss, though:
