Louisville Slugger Model Number

Has anyone come across Louisville Slugger bats that have a letter after the model number? Normally, the bats are labeled as "C271" or "T141," etc, but recently I saw a "I13L" model with a Major League player's name and team on the front of the barrel as well as the MLB and TPX logo on the back. Is this a minor league cull or something? Thanks!

Here is the information you're looking for...

Ron,

If you look on page 30 of the book BATS by Vince Malta, Mike Specht (who is a pretty regular forum contributor now), Ronald Fox, and Bill Riddell, you will find all the information you need on this. "L" after the model number designates a large knob. "S" after the model number designates "a smaller than usual knob."

Hope that helps.
