I felt the necessity to post this letter because I just had a very pleasurable transaction with MEARS. How many times have we read in auction catalogs, eBay or websites, “ALL SALES ARE FINAL”, “NO RETURNS” or “Item is guarantee to be 100% authentic or your money cheerfully refunded”. When the item is received, there IS A problem. In most cases, the buyer is stuck. Recently, I had a jersey authenticated by MEARS. There was a SLIGHT problem with the way the LOO was written. I notified Troy Kinunen with my concerns. Troy listened to my concerns. Dan Knoll called me at home and I must emphasize, Dan did not pressure me at all. He was a gentleman and he told me MEARS side of the story. Dan then gave me three options: MEARS would buy back the jersey, I can keep the jersey or, once they photo match the jersey, I can buy the jersey back for the same price as my refund. I opted for the refund and within a few days, I received a check from Dave Bushing. Not only did Dave refund my money, he added an extra $50.00 just to pay for my return postage and any incidentals. In closing, no-one and I mean no-one is perfect. MEARS realized they made a minor error but instead of pressuring me, they explained their side of the story and when I decided I would rather have a refund, they sent me a refund. One final note, I fully expect to get a call back from Dan Knoll that he got a photo match for my jersey and I will be sending Dave his money back. MEARS is the best.
