Sanchez

July 25 2005, 6:34 PM

That guy is completely worthless. I went to see the Giants play Saturday night and he played the worst center field I've ever seen. (I've been to at least 150 games in my life and have seen some bad CF's like Marvin Benard) He got horrible jumps on the ball and missed the cutoff man twice.

I can see why he's been fired from three teams already. Horrible attitude and defense. I was hoping that when they activated Grissom they would let him go instead they put him on the DL. I thought he might be dogging it because he knew the writing was on the wall with Grissom coming back

Next year, Bonds Alou and Sanchez in the OF together would be a complete trainwreck....

Unfortunately, steroids won't help much with defense

everyone has their own thoughts.

Alex Sanchez should blossom into a great player with a little more time and training. He is one of the best pure hitters in the league. He can beat u by lying down a bunt or smacking on through the hole. He may also sometimes beat you with a homer. Like he did against the yankees earlier in the year. I feel he just needs the right team and coached to help him with his fielding. If he consontrates more on his fielding and because the player i know he can be then he will be an allstar very soon. I know people will always hate on him no matter what but no matter what people say or how many teams he goes to i will always be a true fan of his and i will always respect him and look forward to one day again seeing him play live instead of on tv. So until the day I die i will forever and always be a huge Alex Sanchez fan nomatter what the critics or fans have to say.

Sanchez

July 25 2005, 10:26 PM

He looked bad out there, and what's more Willie Mays was in attendance. You can't play that bad in front of the best CF of all time. Sanchez needs to go to AAA somewhere where he can play every day and work on his fielding in an environment where it won't be as costly. Given the Giant's crowded outfield situation, it won't happen there. In several games with the Giants this year he's started, he's made errors that have cost them runs. His lifetime .330 obp isn't great for a leadoff hitter, given his defense. You need to draw walks and get on base as a leadoff hitter, his obp needs to come up.

Speculation is that he's done with the Giants, but we'll see.
He's running out of chances, this will be his fourth organization.

After he screwed up several times in the field, and he came to the plate, he was booed like no other Giants player at SBC Park,
almost like the old Candlestick Days.

I collect Giant's jerseys, and might be able to help out at some point, so they're might be a silver lining in a dark cloud here.
I'll let you know. I'm a very frustrated Giants fan.

Sanchez

July 25 2005, 11:04 PM

I went crazy when on Sunday Night Baseball a few weeks ago, Sanchez made two horrible plays in RF which caused Noah Lowry to get the loss (Noah is one of my favorite players). Sanchez needs some work on his defense, that's for sure. He takes some strange routes to balls and doesn't have good range.

yes he does need some work

July 25 2005, 11:36 PM

Yes i do agree with everyone that he may need help in the outfield but i just feel like he is pressing himself to hard. If he would just relax and play the game he could be a hall of fame type player i think. I know he has so much talent he just needs to play the game and not worry about what if i drop this. If he can just go out with a clear mind he could be one of the best leadoff hitters in baseball history. I mean he has speed, he can hit, lay down a bunt , whatever u need he can do it. I just know he will catch on with another team or maybe the giants and over the offseason he will get his defense to where he is being considered a gold glover or most improved player. That is what i believe and i hope we all get to see him play again this year cause it would be a sham to no have him play any more this year cause he is an asset to any team he plays for. Im going to go out on a limb here but he will make the giants outfield next year and commit only 2 errors all year and win a gold glove and be one of the leading canadates for the giants all star spot next year.

Long shot

July 25 2005, 11:38 PM

I know this is a longshot but i really hope Alex Sanchez reads this and sees that he does still have fans that love him and want to see him play and hopefully this will motivate him to play like the true ball player he is.

There are baseball player's I enjoy, but I think you need a twelve step program. Tonight I will be dreaming about a guy named Tony who is looking for an Alex Sanchez jersey as he continues to not only overvalue his skills (he's actually one step away from playing in the Independant League), but keeps reminding the board of your desperation toward owning his gear.

Growing up, my boyhood idol was Craig Worthington of the Baltimore Orioles and I actually think he has a better chance of leading some team into the pennant race. Steroids, getting bumped off in Milwaukee, Detroit (despite having a good season) and Tampa Bay?

Hey, you want Sanchez gear, simply be patient and do your eBay searches. I'm sure patience will pay off and you'll own one shortly. Good Luck!

Wow, that is irony. I haven't been looking for a jersey since the late eighties when it was impossible to get O's jerseys but still managed to pay through the nose for Sam Horn, Bob Milacki and Mickey Weston. While I'm not interested in an MLB jersey, I would be willing to pay for a Rochester Red Wings jersey.

Make a run at it

July 26 2005, 11:11 PM

it's only $65, probably won't go for more than $200 absolute tops if that. At this point, the best strategy is to snipe I think...

Kind of reminded me of when I collected cards when I was 12 in the late 80s and was mildly pleased when I pulled a Craig Worthington rookie in a pack. I thought he might turn into something back then, too. Those babies went for 25 cents why back when....

Man, you are high maintenance....

Is it your jersey friend? As noted above, will probably pass. Won't sell for $200, $125 tops.

Eric thanx so much for this site

August 8 2005, 1:38 AM

Hello to everyone who reads this post. I just want to inform everyone on what happened to me today. Today i had an interesting email, it was from Alex Sanchez's agent Mr. Juan Iglesias. He told me his son read my posts on this website and that hes glad to see true fans out there. Mr. Iglesias is a great man, he took about 1/2 hour of his time and was just chatting with me. He has made my day by letting me know he is sending me a goodie bag of Alex Sanchez stuff. I cant belive that happened to me. This is one of the greatest moments of my 24 year old life. Mr. Iglesias is a great man and I feel like god has blessed me and i am so glad for Eric making this site. Without this site Eric i wouldnt have had my dream come true. In todays world for a sports agent to just chat with some like he did really made me feel great to be a fan. He is a class act person and i hope that we will keep in contact cause he was a person i feel like i can just chat with about things. Also i know any player would be very pleased and lucky to be represented by this man. He showed me today that he cares not only about his clients but his own and clients fans as well. Thanx so much Mr. Iglesias and ur son for reading my posts and thank u Eric for making this site. God bless you all and once again thank you
