Much as I love my 210, to me something has always been missing. I always thought if they're going to build a Radiomir hommage to the original rads, why put black hands on it when the originals had yellow gold hands? Then OP comes out with the 232 and the look, as I imagined all along, is smashing!

So, after some careful searching I located and acquired a set of gold hands and had my watchmaker to the swap. I still have the black hands, and to change them back is an easy job. In the meantime, I have a 45mm Radiomir base with a display back and gold hands.

Looks pretty good with my Simona Montreal strap too.

When the watch finally came out with Black hands there were many disappointed fans, I for one.

I know of some who changed to Gold hands on the BS as well and it looked great!!!

I considered it, but chose not to and ended up with the 190

You made the right choice (thumbs up)!!!!!!

This is a great customization!
A keeper for sure!!!

The though did cross my mind to do a customization of a Lumior or Rad, but I wasn't sure if I would "bastardize" (if thats a word) the spirit of the watch?
Been doing a some research as se that others have done the same.

....I personally would never alter the original version of a watch, except for strap changes

Something else to consider is that I am not sure that the watch company would honor any warranty on a watch that has been altered after-market.

(a) my watch is no longer on warranty
(b) it's my watch and I can do what I want to it
(c) it is in keeping with the history of the original GP&F made watches
(d) I still have the black hands, and it only takes a watchmaker about 20 minutes to swap 'em back

But my desire says...
But you figure that most warranty on Panerai is up in 2 years, that most older watches, your paying for the repair anyways. Just pick up an oder model and PVD it! Not to pass it off as a fake, but for my own wants.

Then my heart says, the chase is half the fun...

hands can make such a difference. I suspect that if Panerai release the 210 and the 183 with gold hands, it would have altered the number of sales for each.


Either way, i think you did a great job of fixing a flawed design IMHO
