Kay, these sound great to me. I'm impressed at all the benchmarks. We haven't gotten those on an IEP since preschool. He's going into second grade right? It sounds like he and aaron will have a lot of the same goals next year. Great IEP

Thank you so much...

It made me feel better. I felt like there were confusing and asking him to perform more that one talk to meet the annual objective. So if he did not do well on one objective it would cause him to not meet that goal. I am from the old way where each goal was a single measurable goal and that goal was broken down into benchmarks. But then I guess we would be killing lots of trees.
Maybee we will be able to help each other through the second gradehttp://trisomy21online.com/Pages_Not_Posted/rollingonthefloor.gif
Thank you again

Looks good...

really helpful to see this kind of thing. I need to really learn how to do this better and help the team, they are not into being so measurable.

Also I am really impressed with his goals! Go Drake!

Kay, I have a question?

April 11 2007, 3:45 PM

How do they measure these skills, especially the expressive language skills? Do they use some form of standardized testing? Just curious.

Ths SLP has a test that she uses..

April 11 2007, 8:35 PM

at the end of the year. I do not remember the name of the test off the top of my head. However during the year she has Drake do so many of one thing and she takes the number of what he independently did right and divides it by the total number that he could have gotten right to recieve a percent. I hope that made sense.
