Just wanted to give you guys a heads up I purchased this watch from Mako1. We actually met up in Toronto and completed the deal about 3 weeks ago. Turns out i went to trade in this watch to John Siracusa at Capital Time pieces on a Hublot just so happens Bobby from Canadian Watch Collector was there at the same time and it turns out the watch, box and paper work are all fakes.
I contacted Mako1 later that night and informed him of my findings. I told him I would have the back of the watch removed the next day and just confirm what we feared. Bobby offered to take the watch back to Ottawa with him and confirm but john had a local guy. We spoke back and fourth for about 5 mins after that and both of us shocked by the findings. Mako1 claims he purchased the watch from someone off of Kajiji in ottawa but no longer has any of that persons info. I found this a little hard to believe as i know myself when I purchase expensive watches I always keep notes and records about the deal and the seller. I understand everyone is different but mako1 has been doing this for a while so i was kinda surprised. He hinted that maybe it was something I had done in the time that I owned the watch which I was a little insulted by but understand his concerns as we don't know each other out side this deal.
I told him I would call him the next day and see what we could figure out. I called Mako1 the following night and we spoke he offered me half my money back to which I replied i didnt think it was fair but would sleep on it for the night. After a night of not much sleep i called Mako1 and told him I wanted the full refund for the fake watch he has sold me. He refused and said half was more then fair. I informed him I would be proceeding with fraud charges and small claims court.
Im putting this up as I don't want to see anyone else taken advantage of. Mako1 is quick to write Lots of references to ease you mind, I guess what he forgot to write is if there's a problem get lost i already have your money.
To anyone that reads this your welcome to confirm or check any part of my story with john Siracusa at Capital Time Pieces or Bobby the owner of Canadian Watch Collector.
