1972 Kellogg's mugs. Supposedly a mail away offer during the 1972 Kellogg's iron on transfer promo. They simple white mugs with a cartoon of the player. Someone is offering me the Mikita and Keon from the set. Mikita is on the checklist for the transfers, Keon is not. Jim

Mugs

July 12 2006, 1:17 PM

Hey Jim,
Going through some old posts, thought this would help...
Those mugs the guy was offering you came from Mac's Milk stores across Canada. Mac's Milk had a sports center with different sporticatures such as these mugs and pennants, towels, booklets, colouring books and of course the sporticature pictures. There are 12 mugs in the set.

The Kellogg's offering was only the transfers, although done by the same artist Bob Pelkowski...Bob Pelkowski did all the Chicago program covers in the 1960's for the Black Hawks. He was employed to do some work through a man in Paris, Ontario which is where you would mail in for allot of these items. There is no checklist to most of these items but we know there are a wide variety out there.

Bobby
