Rare Hockey Cards

I've heard about the V129 Harry Oliver, V145-1 William Patterson Bert Corbeau and Maple Crispette Sprague Cleghorn being short-printed in their days so as to limit the number of redemptions for their respective items. However, I've never seen any of them, even in poor condition or printed in any price guides. I'm always on the lookout for the few and far in-between articles on pre-war hockey. Have any of you ever seen them, or better yet can anyone post a picture of any of them? Thanks.

We talked about these cards briefly in another thread. I personally have never seen one in person or at auction. I will be speaking to Len Pottie this weekend and will ask him if he has ever handled one. If anyone can give us a rough number of how many of these cards exist it's Len. Jim.

I just spoke with Len and this is what he told me. He has handled all 3 and believes there are less than 25 of each. I would think that there are alot less than 25 or they would show up more often. I personally would say there are less than 10 of each if not less than 5. If anyone has auction catalogues going back a while or remembers one of these cards being offered, let us know. Jim.

On a side note. Anyone who does Psa submissions through Len has a bit more time to get the cards to him this month.

Short Prints

Yes, very few of the short printed cards have come to my attention with the book and all the collectors I have talked to.
I can assure you there is less than 5 of each. You can also include the 1924-25 Holland Creameries-Connie Neil, 1923-24 Cresent Selkirks-Cecil Brown and of course ANY card from the 1924-25 Cresent Falcon Tigers or ANY hockey card from the 1925-26 Dominion Chocolate second series of 60 cards.
