It's nice to have a place to call your own

This might sound like a rather strange statement coming from me (for those that know me).

But it's true. It seems on forums us vintage hockey collectors are always in the minority, and eventually we're over run by baseball collectors. That said, all 5 of us can stay on topic over here

It's nice to see the usually suspects and unusually suspects posting here ....and even John!!!

Stab in the Back

Tom,

Yeah, thanks for the side-handed comment. But, truly I would agree with you. I know that there's less of us than for the other sports. I would guess about 50 or so based on the number of contacts I've made through the years (as far as pre-war), perhaps 100 or so in vintage hockey. Always the bridesmaid and the never the bride -- no more!!

Again, thanks for the C57's that started me on the path to total immersion into pre-war hockey.

John,

By saying "even John" I was actually referring to the fact I'm very pleasantly surprized to see you on message boards. You know, like a "Wow, even John is here!!!" I didn't know you participated. So ...no "back stabbing" intented my friend!!!

I noticed you posted youur sets on the registry. Great stuff on some very rare sets. I'm glad to see someone has the balls to chase the V129 and V144 sets!!! That shows some real patience!!!

Tom

I mean C144. I've got V on the brain.

It definitely is nice to hear about nothing but hockey. I know I'm pretty narrow in my collecting habits, but I wouldn't want it any other way.

There is nothing like hockey.

Tom,

I knew you were joking. It's difficult to convey inflection in this medium. Thanks for the comments about the V129's and C144's. Now only if I could find more Ex-Mint's and above of those 2 sets. Great to have you on the board.

P.S. Just in case someone out there doesn't know, Tom Papa authored one of the few articles that make the PSA SMR worth subscribing to regarding pre-war hockey.
