Has Anyone Ever Bought a Smelly Card?

I picked up a 1953 Parkhurst Howe on the weekend and took it out of it's ratty toploader when I got home. As soon as I took it out of the holder, I caught a whiff of the card and it reeked. It smells like cinnamon or some other spice. I have left it out for a couple of days to air out but it doesn't seem to be working, in fact I think the whole room that it's in smells now. I've had cards that smelled musty before but nothing like this. Anybody know how to get rid of this smell? Jim

Other than fresh air I don't know??? But it's sad that if you put it in a box with other cards, it'll probably smell up the whole bunch

At least it smells like spices, could be worse, heh heh.

I bought the card to get graded, I wonder if smell affects the grade? Jim.

The new "S" quailier

Can you imagine?

I'm sure that the grading is limited to issues one can see or feel. Not see.

So my recommendation of slabbing it will end your issues and fulfill your wish. Sounds like a plan.
