SAme old, same old....mostly a social session...chatted with Gerry from Montreal, got my autograph from Yvan C....he looked like a million dollars....didn;t buy anything. Met a fellow collector to do some trading....got a bunch of cards graded by KSA...whoops, just kidding..

HI Jim, yes I would have to say it was pretty big...some dealers that I had never seen before.the usual local suspects with their overpriced garbage..my interests are very narrow, late 1960's hockey, in high grade, so I don't often find anything at the local shows....
It's probably a better forum for buying by the bigger dealers that come out once a year...
I was at the Vancouver show on Saturday. Didn't buy a thing except for Guy Lafleur's autograph, which was cool. Lots of low-grade raw 60's and 70's cards around, if that's your thing, but not much in the way of high-grade material, graded or raw. Nice to see they're getting some HOF'ers in for the shows but does the promoter have an in with the Canadiens or what? Beliveau, Lafleur and Cournoyer all in the span of 6 months.

Nice to hear from somebody else that went to the show. It seems like there is a ton of low/mid grade at every show. The Canadiens players are really easy to get a hold of and book for shows because they all go through one agent, and are still fairly affordable. How much are they charging for Lafleur auto's these days? Jim
$25 per autograph is almost approaching my pain threshold. I don't mind Yvan, as I have never met him before, but Lafleur is out here all the time. I stood in line at a Shopper's Drug MarT when he was promoting his sports drink about 15 years ago, as an example..

$25/photo included is super cheap for an autograph of a guy like Lafleur. Out here we have AJ's charging more than that for guys we wouldn't know if it wasn't for cards.
a little late response but i have been busy with other stuff . the show had a little more vintage then the last but nothing really stuck out . the only reason i go is to get my hockey news top 100 players of all time book autographed , if one of them is a signing guest . the other reason i went this time was to hopefully find a joe malone psa graded card (no such luck). i find that most of the dealers jack up prices for the shows and then complain that no one is buying . all in all the show was not bad , i just hope that the next show has good signing guests and a little more cardboard selection .
