I was going through some old files today and found some PSA population reports that I had printed
off on April 26th 2005. I thought it would be interesting to see how the pop's had grown in the
last year and a half. Here are some results. Apr 26/05 " THEN " Today " NOW "

Thought this info may be interesting for anyone building or planning on building any
of these sets in the future.
Who knows what the next year and a half may bring.
Really looking forward to the EXPO tomorrow, hope to see some of you there....
Rob - Thanks for posting this information. I like to read this type of data. I am very surprised that there are so many C56's graded compared to the C55's.
On this same subject, I have been wondering how many cards graded by PSA and listed in the population report, have been cracked open and resubmitted? For rare cards where the difference of 1 grade can make a big difference in value, this could affect the value of the population report. I would imagine that this practice is done by dealers more than collectors, but now completely.
I don't imagine that there is any way to fix this problem once it gets out of hand, but it could keep the values of certain cards artificially low if collectors believe that there are more of a certain card available than is actually the case.
I would venture to say on big card, with hi grades would have a large submittion.
Just think for example if you had a strong psa8 Gretzky Rookie, how many times would you try to get a 9....probably a few eh!
If its only 15 bux or so to grade a card and you can make a few hundred or so on resubmitting, man, I would think that the % is a lot higher than 10%. It is certainly a drawnback to the system.
