Just picked this up today. Nothing spectacular but it's on a full page of the sports section and the ad is nice and big, measuring about 8x11. My question is, if I cut out the ad and have it matted am I destroying it or is something like this common enough that it doesn't really matter? Jim.

I would love to have the full advertisement--be a nice thing for a King Clancy collection .As I don't see many BeeHive advertisemnts it'd be a great display for showing the type of hockey products back in the day--Are you able to make repro of?

Wouldn't mind an example to sit next to my Clancy autograph display-
GREAT ITEM

I can copy it for you but I don't know how good it will turn out. The same guy also had full pages with the same size ad from Imperial Oil. Within the ad there are small pitures of the 3 stars(shaped like stars) from the Leaf game the night before. i remember one had C. Conacher, Bailey and someone else, the other had Clancy and others. I'm thinking I should go back and pick them up but $30ea sounded a bit steep. Any comments? Jim

$300.00 is a bit steep--Esp if just cut from a magazine--NICe display items if you can find the right ones that fit into your collection--For that price I'd pass on them--unless it's not a big deal--

$30 each. For $300 I wouldn't be thinking about it.

Nice item Jim, the identical photo was used for Clancy's 1960 topps all time great card #47 in the set.
I would post a scan if mine was working. Christmas is only 3 weeks away and a new scanner is first on my list.

Pick Ups

Hey Jim,
This particular ad is a really nice one.
Bee Hive also used this exact same ad (which was put in retail magazines) and instructed store owners to post up on their window to attract children in the neighbourhood who enjoy hockey and this way they could see their favorite hockey heros like Bee Hive products. Prior to their photo release tho.

Sunday Morning Pick-Up

Talking about King Clancy, here is a rare Clancy item.
Its a picture of my jacket I got back in 1980-81 when
our team won the King Clancy Tournament Championship,
(All Ontario Provical All-Star Champions)
Our coach at that time was Dave Branch, the commission
of the OHL at the time. Ahh, the good old days...

King Clancy Ad

Jim,

It's a gorgeous ad, no matter what. I have several turn-of-the-century football magazines where I had the entire magazine mounted and displayed. You could either cut out this ad or bend it so that the ad is facing the front and have either of those mounted. I'm sure that you're well aware of the importance of matting, acid-free materials and UV-protection for displayed items. For me, a well-mounted picture like this would be in the $100-125 range. But, then again, I'm crazy.
