I won another copy of this thing from the same seller a couple weeks ago as I'd never seen the type card before and it just arrived. Its obviously handcut, on thin 'construction' type paper, and the name looks stamped on below a photo that was cut from a group of pictures. Dimensions are 1 3/8" x 1 15/16". The seller seems to have a considerable supply of the same 4 players. Does anyone know if this is a real issue or have I been duped?

Bobby - did you cover an issue like this in your book (I'd look it up but the darn thing hasn't arrived yet).

Yes, The cards are from a real set. Yes , Bobby covered them in his book, mine just arrived two days ago. WOW!! what a book, a must have for all card and hockey memorabilia collectors, not just vintage collectors. WOW!! WOW!! can't put it down. Did I say WOW!!! According to the book a set of cards (7) in EX is valued at $1900.00. So I would say you got a great deal. Good luck any of us getting any that cheap now.. Ha Ha. I will let Bobby respond to your question as he can probably tell you more than what I read in the book.

Thanks Don - I was feeling like I'd been suckered. Assuming it's real this issue has to be the least attracive, poorest designed card set of the pre war hockey era.

Mark. they are real issues. I noticed this guy selling the same cards over and over, I just figured he found a little stack. I think that he is actually located in Moncton. I had some infront of me a few months ago but did not take them out of the loader to handle them. The VHC says they are thin stock with poor print quality. I noticed he also had a couple of the tougher Telegraph-Journal cards also. Jim.

Mark, if you haven't recieved your book yet, it must be lost in the mail!!? I will track it for you tomorrow.

Don, thanks for the WOW's, your apreciation for vintage hockey must be deep.

Yes Mark, these cards are real, there was so much stuff done for the Moncton Hawks after they won the cup.

The guy who lists them, keeps listing them over and over, I guess he has no sense of how to make money.....haha.

The other cards are much rarer and more desirable.

Bobby
