Scanning Tips

Hey Guys,

With doing the books, I have learned a few things about scanning, hope you all can find this information useful.

Scanning with a black backgroud will usually help reduce any colour transition or the "white out" look.

Using the setting "descreen" on your scanner will help eliminate the checkerboard look when scanning Bee Hives and newspaper-like photos.

To reduce dust and scratches on you scanner bed that might transfer
over to you picture your scanning, use Unsharp Mask setting.

Scanning items for ebay is best done at 200 dpi.

Scanning for a book or an article is best at 350 to 400 dpi.
