Looking to start the 1933 O-Pee-Chee

Greetings Boys,

I decided I will collect the 1933 O-Pee-Chee set. I am going to do that along side the '53 Parkhurst set. I'm going to hold off on the '54 Parkhurst set, for now.

I wanted to ask you guys, how hard is this set in VG-EX? My sense is that it shouldn't be too tough.

How tough is the '33 Canadian Gum set? That's also one that I like but judging by how few there appear to be on ebay it seems hard?

Anyhow, I'm hoping that some of you guys have some cards to sell me. Please email me with whatever you might have, or if you know of some available that would be great, too.

regards
Adam H.

Adam,

Mark could definitely tell you how hard this set is to complete in any condition. He has the only complete set on any registry. I have also started this set. I would like to complete it in EX or better condition, but I am having a hard time finding them in any condition.

Good Luck on the sets,
Scott

Scott is correct - the v252s are very hard to find and they are made from a cardboard that seems flimsier to me than the other 1933 sets. I'm always looking to upgrade my set but its rare to see any that would grade 3 or better.

However don't let me discourage you from going after the set - I think it's very cool and there are fewer serious v252 collectors than V304 or V357 collectors.
