Worsely

I read that Gump was 77 when he died. The story in the New York Post said that "he smoked like a freight train between periods."

One thing I didn't know what that he played 21 seasons, but didn't wear a mask until his last 6 games.

Although I have this rookie card, my favorite card of Gump is the 1954 Topps card. I have always liked that picture of him!

Really sorry to hear of his death.

Earl

all star heaven

hey dan basso, that topps 1968 all star card looks like "gump" is in allstar heaven!!!!!! nice selection of graded cards you got there.also my second choice was the 1954 topps card, great shot of "gump" as a new yorker but picked the #1 1969 opc card as my first choice because his best days was with the habs as the #1 starter in the nets winning the stanley cup a few times with that team!!!

rookie card pics?

Yes, he looks like he enjoyed life, at least from the big smile on his hockey cards. Does anyone have any earlier cards of his, for our viewing?

Gump Rookie

Here is his 1953 Parkhurst rookie. He sure looks a lot younger in this pic and in the 1954 Topps card than he did in the late 60's cards!

He was a lot thinner in his younger days too. (I guess I was too!)
