Toronto Maple Leafs Colouring Book

Here is a neat Maple Leafs coloring book that I picked up about 10 years ago when I was just getting into vintage cards. It's really in amazing shape! The cover is bright white and the corners are sharp. Also, none of the pages have been colored on.

On the inside, there are pictures of the players with their name and facsimile signature. On the back, it shows the leading scorer and all stars from the 1963-64 season, so I guess this came out during the 64-65 season.
Besides the players, there are pictures of Punch Imlach the coach, and King Clancy.

Does anyone know anything about this coloring book? I haven't seen any others over the years. The prics is 49 cents, so it wasn't a team giveaway. Was it sold at the games? If you know anything about it, let me know.

Thanks,
Earl

Nice piece Earl !! I have only seen one of these about 2 years ago at an antique show. These are pretty tough to find especially in nice clean condition like yours appears to be. I just recently started watching these types of items on ebay so i can't help you there. Jim.

Edited to add: I believe they were sold in supermarkets.

leafs colouring book

i have the same book,it was released in late 1964.they won the cup in 1963-64 and sold this to commerate the cup winners and all leaf stars/etc of 1963-64 in the gardens, groceries and local variety stores.they are hard to find in nice unmarked condition.mine is just as nice as yours.what i like about the book the most is that they included terry sawchuk after he was traded from detroit to toronto.great photo of him with his simulated autograph in the center of the book.next page sawchuk's action shot is a mok up from the toronto star photo but with the toronto maple leafs logo added.also notice sawchuk is not pictured on the front with the team as he was picked up in the 1964 season.this is a must have book for the leaf fan.neat!!!

Thanks for the info! I have owned this book for years, but never knew much about it. It's nice knowing about the items in your collection!

I just love the fact that it looks like it just came from the supermarket!

Leafs Colouring Book

Hi

This is my first post but couldn't resist adding something to this thread.

I have a similar condition copy of this coloring book. The story I got when I purchased it was that a case of these were found sometime in the 90's.

Rare but maybe not as rare as one would think.

Keep thos sticks on the ice

larger pic of the front?

March 18 2007, 10:52 PM

Hi, could someone post a larger, more detailed pic/scan of the front cover?
Does the book identify the players on the front?

Edited to say: the last one sold on Ebay for approx $50 Canadian.

Thanks,
R Haynes
