I got to know who some of your favorite players are through your posts, but I was wondering what would be your #1 All-Time card design. I have been drawn to the 1912 C57's myself because I love the black and white pictures that capture that era. I would love to see some posts and scans of your #1 card design. Here's a few from mine.
my first favorite design is sweet caporal postcard 1910, for the 60 ' my favorite design is the 66 67 topps, for the 70's i love the 71 72 design. I like a design in all era. But my favorite i think is the TV design of 66 67
i like the 1933-37 opc cards.the combination of colour with black and white photo was briliant. also the 1936 pop ups where one of a kinds. i guess i just love those pre war o-pee-chees!!!

I just have to add a vote for the 33-34 Canadiwen chewing gum issue-great color and design!
For the 10's, the 1911-12 series has the best design, I think, though those cards aren't as rare as the 12-13's. The 20's? I don't have any Holland Creameries cards, but I kinda like the Paulin's candy cards.
If we're talking pre-war, I like the 33 OPCs; not so much the actual design but the uniqueness (I believe) of the four different color variations - blue, red orange and green, is that right ? Which got me thinking, has anyone ever attempted or seen a master set of all colors ? Or even all four variations of a single player ? Was thinking of trying this, would be kind of neat to see (single player, not set !)
hey AL,you are right with the colours combinations ORANGE-BLUE-RED-GREEN. i really like the 33-34 opc with the big and little stars on the card. makes all the cards look like all star cards. there is a collector in quebec i know that did do a master set of all four colour combo's for each player. i'll ask him to send me a sample of one player and post it later. did you know that sometimes getting the leafs in blue or the canadiens in red brings in a premium over other colours?
Thanks Donald. I didn't know about the premium, I was going to ask if one color was tougher to find than others so I guess it might be if you were looking for a particular player. Luckily there weren't any black/gold ones, so I should be ok in my quest. That master set is quite an accomplishment, must have taken quite awhile to put that together.
hey AL,no none of the colours are tougher to find then others. hey i know you like to collect bruins, that team set would look great with the orange set backround colour. i once saw the eddie shore rookie with that colour and it looked sweet!!! the orange is the closest to the golden yellow bruins colour.
