Moncton Hawks 1930's cards

These cards appear to be relatively new to the hobby. I know they are in VHC and they have cropped up on ebay over the last year or so. Was there a large "find" that turned up these cards or have they always been around but I never noticed them?

Hi Ray - there are two sets - one from the newspaper (Telegraph Journal) and those look like vintage hockey cards. The second set is smaller than normal, blank backed, and looks like it came off a poor quality copy machine. 'neatoldstuff9' (he is from Moncton) on eBay has been selling two from the newspaper set and four from the other set repeatedly over the last year so either he made a big find or he's printing them (and I've seen no complaints in the forums and I know several people have bought type cards from him). I bought one of each for my type set and again the newspaper issue is pretty cool IMO.

Both sets have been around for many years, similar to the Annonymous issue of the 30's, but try and find one...so I think there was a small find of these cards.

Many Moncton Hawks items were produced at this time with them winning thier first Allan Cup.

Bobby
