Congratulations big time. Relatively speaking, I think you got a steal (especially as compared to the last Orr jersey that sold through Classic Auctions). Incredible provenance, historical importance and accompanying pictures. I still think it's incredible that Orr is the only hockey player to break the $100,000 barrier for his jersey. Makes you wonder how much the 20's Aurel Joliat jersey would go for. Great buy. I would be on cloud nine for quite awhile. I hope that the Mrs. understands the purchase.
I said "Honey, I bought myself an Easter present; and we have to move".
I read that there are issues as to it's authenticity, couldn't find a link though. Would be surprised, they usually are pretty meticulous in the photo-matching department.
Especially when it comes to game-used items more than cards, it's definitely a caveat empeor situation. However, having Classic Auctions, Barry Meisel and Meigray authenticate it along with the multiple pictures would definitely make me feel a lot more assured. Even though the "best player of all time" is debated in hockey, Bobby Orr definitely outdistances the others in the memorabilia department.
