the most under valued card is the 1970 #111 brit selby no trade which books at $20, everytime it goes for sale on ebay it gets $300-$400. yearly beckett still has it listed wrong. as they have the (trade noted) at $20 and the (no mention of trade) at $4 see page 146 in this years yearly beckett. as far as 60's cards go i think the 1961-62 parkhurst #5 keon rc is under valued. also for the 30's cards the 1933-34 chuck gardiner @ $175 is very under valued.

I don't think there is anything undervalued. It doesn't matter what a price guide says. There are mistakes in every price guide, it doesn't affect a cards true value. Value is decided by an open market not a magazine editor. Jim.

Exactly !!! Do not use price guides. Let's build out own price guide based on eBay sales. I do my best with my website but it's getting harder every day and I could use some help.
There are a number of them that quickly come to mind, but the one that really catches my attention is the 1954 Topps Milt Schmidt. In PSA 7 that card goes for over $1000 every time!
Basically, if you are an active collector, you will know about this and won't be surprised when the undervalued items go for much higher than the price guide lists.

When I read this I thought that Frank was referring to cards that are under-valued in terms of realized prices; not vis-a-vis book value, but rather in terms of the popularity/accomplishments of the player. Like the Lindsay which, according to Earl's price guide (which I now use regularly BTW) goes in the $180 range for an EX copy - given his stature, longevity, doesn't that seem a bit low when compared with some of the other RCs from that issue ?
My vote in this regard goes to John Bucyk, whose RC goes for about the same as Lindsay's. Retired as the all-time leading scorer among LWers; near the top of the all-time games played; 16 20+ goals seasons (!); one of the most respected leaders the game has known; 2 cups, HOF, all-star games in three decades; Lester Patrick Award. His RC goes for what, 1/10th of Bobby Hull's ? Give me a break.

From my point of view, the whole 55-56 Parkhurst set is really underated and under valued. If you watch carefully the PSA set registry, this is by far the toughest set of the post war era.Even the all-time finest is not complete...that s says it all. Common PSA 7 sells for a minimum of 60$ and most of the time goes in the 125-150$ area. And any PSA 8 sells for over 200$ minimum every time. All book price are far away from the reality in this case and for example, It has not changed price for over 5 years now in Beckett Magazine ( on raw cards). More on that set, there is almost no commons as most cards display and exibit some of the best the game has ever known.....
