Unfortunately the forum software has huge limitations and to obtain some statistics is possible only manually (by hand - good thing I have nothing to do and am not against a tedious work).

Anyway a few days ago we celebrated our first anniversary and here are some first year numbers:

Total 119 members posted at least once including 3 almost equal categories -

41 very active members;
36 who post occasionally;
39 who posted only 1-3 times (many of them in the first month of the forum existence);
and 3 troublemakers

Thanks for the stats compilation and overview. As a numbers person, I can appreciate the relevance of stats and the seemingly infinite number of ways they can be analyzed. Thank you again to you, Jim and everyone else who puts in countless numbers of personal hours to make this forum a reality - "Where everybody knows your name."

I may only post occasionally, but I am on this site reading it every day. Can you track how many people visit or view each post?

Here is the problem -

There are no actually any forum members.
There are the Network54 users/members that frequent and possibly post on Jim’s forum. That does not make them Jim's forum members.

There is no way, at any given time, to find out how many members Jim has for his forum.

There is no way to separate us from let’s say N54 Baseball forum “members” (because for the same reason there is no such thing as Baseball or any other forum “members”)

This is not the same idea as the "other forums’ software”. On those forums, you must create your own database, import the forum software, add forum members to the database, etc..... A lot of work at the beginning but everything else is easy later.

As a Network54 forum owner, Jim shares the user/member database with every other Network54 forum owner.

To summarize this all I must say that when Jim and I want to do something, it takes a long time before we figure out that it simply can’t be done.

Thanks for the update. That does sound like a tedious task Elmar. I have to tell you though, I'm not too concerned about numbers. It would be nice to know how many people signed up for N54 to post on this forum but it wouldn't change anything. It's nice to see that different people are posting all the time and it seems like there are more people visiting the forum monthly. Sometimes things like this can get too big for their own good. We have a good group so far and it will grow at it's own pace. The last thing i want is to have to check in every hour to make sure that a royal rumble has broken out. Jim

thanks for gathering the stats on the forum. i look at the forum several times a nite although i don't post that frequently. the forum is entertaining,educational,and informative. jim keep up the good work. signed greg
