Both have themselves to blame...

First off Buffalo is a talented team yes, And the atmosphere in Buffalo is unreal! I saw a Leafs/Sabres game last year and it was incredible! I have never heard such a loud arena in my life! Second, Lets not blame anyone but John Ferguson! We can't get made a New Jersey because Toronto shouldn't have to wait for the final game of the season to make it in! Thinks like injuries and that, We can't use that as an excuse either, These are pro. athletes and if someone goes down, another needs to step up. We hould have spent money in other places, locked up smaller term contracts, looked for a new captain and a different coach. Just my humble thoughts.

Yes get rid ferguson ervey time a player comes up for trade or is a free agent all they say is now is not the right time BUT when a player who has been in the nhl for 15 years or more comes up for trade they jump all over it. I would not be shocked if they offer jhonny bower a contract. Keep the coach he did a great job with what he had.

LOL! Yeah, they should also dig up Tim Horton and put him back on defense.

I'm not sure a Double Double would calm the defence, but some timbits would sure plug a few holes

hey james, make shure someone digs up sawchuk while they are getting horton,we need a solid back up goalie for bower-remember 1967? i am a leaf fan but i have to say that they suck and i am really disapointed that in 40 years i could not celebrate another cup. maybe in 40 years from now they will pull it of when im six feet under with horton and sawchuk.LOL

It still upsets me knowing that the Leafs chose not to add Allen Iverson to their roster. They could have worked out a sweet deal with the 76ers. Maybe have traded Sundin plus some cash.

Leafs

April 9 2007, 9:51 PM

I'm a Wings fan, but I always pull for the Original 6 Teams to make it into the playoffs and the Finals. I keep hoping that the Leafs will do something each season, but it never seems to happen.

Honestly, how is it that newer teams like the Ducks, Sharks, Hurricanes, Lightning, etc. can build winning teams, while the Leafs remain mediocre? The Leafs are in Toronto! They are surrounded by diehard fans who actually love, and understand, hockey!

It truly defies all logic!

Earl,

It has nothing to do with logic. Fans don't build a team or make strategy decisions. It's impossible to win the Cup with one Sundin only. Leafs should have drafted all Sundin's brothers instead of trading for Lindros.

James,

Don't worry. Iverson won't stay as a Nugget for a long time. A couple of disappointing seasons and he with Carmelo will be available for Leafs.

What Leafs need is a #1 draft pick. Why did the Raptors get Bargnani again and not the Leafs? Is he allowed to take turns playing with both teams?

The Raptors got #1 because Colangilo (I know I spelt that wrong) is the BEST GM IN BASKETBALL!!! And if he doesn't win GM of the year, Something is wrong! I wonder if he knows anything about hockey?

PS. Sorry to the collectors for going off the card topic with these ones!
