Do any of you guys seem to have trouble to insure your cards for shipment. Every time I try to have a card insured, the Post Office tells me that you cannot insure paper items. Is this true???

Thanks...

Are you using the prepaid Express? Maybe they will not let you insure that because it is supposed to be documents only. You can insure it in a regular bubble envelope. Jim.

Thanks Jim. Can you ship a regular bubble envelope express with a signature required? My problem is, the post office does not recognize a card to be a valuble item. To them is just a piece of paper.

I was just reading a topic on the Becket boards about Insurance. I don't know if this is true but here's the quote.

"I guess a lot of people on here do not pay attention to the fine print when they ship via ExpressPost. Everybody is stating that the package is insured for $100 when you ship ExpressPost. That's correct.

HOWEVER......

the fine print states that you are not allowed to ship comercial goods via ExpressPost. ExpressPost is only supposed to be used for paper documents and the like. Sportscards are classified as commercial goods, and CP will not cover them. The seller is right. There is nothing Canada Post will do in this instance..... you will not get any money back from them, and all you can do is cross your fingers and hope there is something Visa can/will do. Good luck."

This is correct if you are using the pre-paid envelopes. You can also send goods by Express as a package. There is full tracking and insurance but no signature to the US. Jim.
