1970 Orr Card Error

Can someone tell me or post pictures of the difference between the 1970/71 OPC 248A and 248B Bobby Orr Norris card. Also if one is rarer than the other.

I'm trying to finish midgrade master sets with all the error cards of 1968/69 to 1979/80 OPC cards. I'm at 96% complete and I'm missing the 77/78 381B checklist (without the Topps), 75/76 Brad Park trade noted, 70/71 111A Brit Selby No trade noted and the 72/73 85B Brad Park IA Defense. The rest of the 4% are 68/69 and 72/73 high series. How rare are these Cards

Thanks
Ron

Error cards

Hi Ron,

I beleive the 70-71 Orr variation has the puzzle players name printed on the back. Cannot remember who it is?

Not sure on the rarity of these but I have a few from your list. Just sold 75-76 # 260 (trade noted)

72-73 # 85 Park Defense I have

P.S. What are you looking for in 72-73 OPC high and what grade!

Rob

Here is the 1970 OPC orr error.

Sorry the scans are so large. I'm experimenting with new softare.

I can't really say how tough it is. I collected these two when I was twelve years old. I have the whole set except the Selby error which seems to be a much tougher card to find as compared with say the Mickey Redmond variation

1970 Orr era

Bobby Burrell had writen a great artical in the July 2007 issue of Canadian Sports mag. on the 1970 OPC Selby and Redmond no trade variations. He makes reference to the other variations in the 1970 OPC set including the #248 Orr no printing on the back that is belived to be a 4 to 1 ratio to the printed variation.

Hope this helps, Lyle

varations

some people call them error cards but i call them varations.

one varation that not to many people know about from 1970-71 opc is #245 laperriere all star.just like the orr showing above the #245 card has one without the notation and one with the notation that mentions gilbert perreault outstanding rookie.

both the orr and laperriere card with the notation on the back are a bit tougher to find than without the notation.

also from 1968-69 opc #193 keith mccreary, the guides note that there is a no number varation that exists.you guys can mark this card off the list as it does not exist and there is no proof or evidence or photo of one to proof it.there is a rumour that one salesmans sample does exist but thats it.

This is another one I tracked down on the playground and this one took a little while. I had completely forgotten about it.
