Advice for crossing over to PSA

Hi,

I have 4 cards that I want to cross-over to PSA. 2 of the cards are from SGC and 2 are from BVG. Three of the cards are graded an 8 and one is a 7. They are all 1964 Topps Tall Boys.

Can anyone let me know if I should A.) Crack them and send them in raw or B.) Send them in the holders with a min. grade that I would be "happy with"

Any advice would be great on what would be the best aproach.

Thanks,
Paul

Crossover Grading

Personally I haven't ever owned a BVG graded card, so I don't know how PSA would treat them. I would honestly expect the grade to drop if you submit it for crossover grading.

As for SGC graded cards, if they are a grade you like, I would submit them in the holder and put a minimum grade that you will accept. Most SGC graded cards that I have submitted have crossed over at an equal grade. If you crack and resubmit, you could always end up with a PSA grade that is much lower than the SGC grade for no apparent reason. If that happens then you are left with a grade that you aren't happy with and that you can't sell.

If the card doesn't crossover at the grade you want, then you can always resubmit it or sell it if you aren't happy with it.

You should have good luck crossing over SGC graded cards. I have been pretty successful with them in the past.

I've had good luck crossing SGCs. If you agree with the grade send em in and likely PSA will cross at the same grade. I've cracked a few BVGs and sent in raw and they graded the same. However cracking those slabs is an adventure - expect plastic shrapnel everywhere.

If you think either are undergraded crack them and send in raw. I've never gotten a 'grade bump' on a crossover.
