Damir:I wasn't a member of this forum when you originally posted these pictures. Thank you, they are excellent. I've only been able to visit the Hall of Fame one time and I wasn't impressed by their display of hockey cards at that time. They were unorganized, dirty and appeared to be just thrown in the cases. Evidently they have done a lot of re-organizing since my visit as from your pictures they seem to be much more eye appealing. I can remember when we visited how I thought it was such a shame that more care wasn't taken with the cards as they didn't match up to the rest of the displays. I thought that if I lived in the Toronto area that I would gladly donate time to the Hall to attempt to do something better with the cards. When I watch the Stanley Cup Playoffs and see the effort put forth on the part of the players in this ultimate sports championship I wonder how many players have never visited this shrine and if it would change the attitudes of those who take their participation in this great sport for granted and perhaps don't make the sacrifices made by so many others who preceeded them. Thanks again Damir
Thanks Ted. I didn't really pay too much attention to the card displays since you can see some of the nicest hockey cards on the PSA and SGC set registry. I was just a little disappointed that there was not alot of stuff displayed from the early times of the sport that belonged to the big stars of the day. I'm sure alot of stuff reside in personal collections but I would have loved to see stuff that belonged to some of the big stars. I do think that Hockey memorabilia is probably the rarest of the major sports to obtain so I guess we can't be too picky. Glad you enjoyed the pics.
Georges Vezina's last skates, game-used stick from the Kenora Thistles, all the game-used jerseys (King Clancy, Seattle Metropolitan, Howie Morenz, etc.)...ahhhhhhhhhh!!!! Seriously, though. Thank you for the incredible pictures, Damir.
