Is anyone going to the Sports Collector show in Chicago, 7/30-8/3/08? Does anyone know how vintage hockey could be expected at the show? I am considering spending a day there. Any chance we could all get together there?

I'm glad you brought this up. I will be coordinating a get-together (dinner) on Fri evening, Aug 1 right after the National for vintage sports (ALL sports) collectors. There is no ulterior motive for me doing this - I just figure for collectors to meet with & see what others collect. I am NOT a big buyer/spender, but I still enjoy the hobby very much. Maybe this is a way I can contribute. I don't know. More details (place, time, etc,...) will be posted closer to the show.

For those of you going to the National in Chicago: The dinner get-together for vintage hockey (& ALL sports) cards & memorabilia collectors will be on Friday evening, August 1 at about 6 pm (immediately after the National ends) at Shoeless Joe’s restaurant in Rosemont, Illinois. The restaurant is very convenient (about 2 miles) from the National. I believe there are free shuttles that go there for those that don’t have cars. Absolutely anyone and everyone is invited (including spouses, children, etc,…) !!! Everyone will pay their own bill for what they eat/drink. (Note that this dinner get-together is unrelated to Leon's official Net54 dinner on Thurs night).

Asking one last time.... anyone even going to the National next week ???

I started this thread, and I was interested in going, but I work all week and apparently the bulk of the National is during the week. Maybe a trip to Canada this fall?
