Is this the first card featuring a helmet?

Hey Everyone,
Thought this might be an interesting topic during the summer. I recently purchased this 1958-59 Topps Charlie Burns #43 card. He is wearing a leather helmet. I have never seen a player wearing a helmet on a hockey card earlier than this one. But I haven't seen every vintage hockey card. Is this the first helmet wearing card from a major company? (Topps, Parkhurst, etc) If not can you show me a copy of another one that is older. Also, is the Ken Dryden rookie the first card featuring a goalie wearing a mask? I wonder if Charlie always wore it or if he had an injuring or if he just tried one on and someone took his picture?

Well I believe there is a card or two of Joliat wearing his little cap but now that I think of it. I don't recall an earlier helmet picture. Then again, He looks like a goof and since lots of hockey are portrait. I'm sure even helmet wearers eschewed the helmet for the photo.

Jack Crawford, card 134 of the 1940-41 OPC set - I believe he's got a helmut.

Bobby, that photo was from the series II. This is from the series 1 1934-44

But speaking of Beehives, there were 3 more players in the series I wearing helmets, all Red Wings and all older, started playing earlier than Crawford and probably their photos were printed before: Doug Young, Ralph Bowman and Carl Liscombe

Cool Elmar - I hadn't seen any of those Type 1 Beehives.
