like to know what the forum thinks of the two psa 10s,richard 8.5,and sawchuck in 9. What do you think of the prices. The richard looked more like an 8 to me with the snowy background, centering, and print imperfections. Also the price with the juice was $7200 which I think was high. signed fessgreg
hello paul, thanks for your feedback. i have a 51-52 rocket richard parkhurst mint 9. what do you think that would go for in an auction if an 8.5 with problems went for $7200. signed fessgreg
Since the Richard 8.5 went for $7200.00 with the buyers premium I would expect a PSA 9 to sell for $12,000.00. There are only 2 PSA 9's with none higher. SMR is $5500.00 for a PSA 9 so $11,000.00 to $12,000.00 is not unreasonable.
A PSA 8 has a SMR of $3000.00 and a PSA 8.5 went for $6000.00 - without the buyers permium. It would be reasonable to expect that since a PSA 8.5 went for double the price of a PSA 8 then a PSA 9 would go for double a 8.5!
Let me know what you think. Maybe I am wrong or over estimating but there are only 2 PSA 9's with none hiher. He is a major HOF'er and extreamly popular in the hobby so I think it is about right. Then again it depends on who is bidding and the time of year etc...
Hey Paul, Thanks again for the feedback. I own a SGC mint 9. I think there are 2 psa 9's and 2 sgc 9's out there. I think your ideas on mint 9 prices are right on the money. I think my mint 9 is worth about 14/15k or 12k without the juice in an auction. What did you think about the richard 8.5 in mastro. I thought it had a lot of problems for an 8.5. What type of cards do you collect? Were you aware of the 51-52 parkhurst cards in mastro before today?
You are right the 8.5 has some problems. Looks like a grade has a rough "alcohol infused" the night before he graded the card. I think it was a low end 8.5 even an 8 but oh well the grade is 8.5 and that is that.
As for what I collect..Anything high grade hockey and pre-war. I did not know that Mastro had as many 1951's! I was not activly searching for any as I have a complete PSA graded set in 7 & 8 myself.
Fess you need to not concern yourself with 51 Parkies. You have a lot of work cut out for you finding a suitable supporting cast of C55's to surround your Vezina.
i hear you jason. but the 51-52 richard parkie was too good to pass up a couple of months ago. as far as the c55's i love them too but and i've bought some more since the vezina. problem is i am not made of money. ha ha. what kind of hockey card collecting have you been doing lately. signed fessgreg
hi jason, let me know how you make out on the c55 taylor. i know about the c55 taylor becauce bmw has a sgc 92 which i could have gotten for a low price a year or two ago and now they want 50k for it. to steep. but the c55's are great. i love them. what is the grade your going after in it. if you get it put a scan up one the board. good luck. fessgreg p.s. don't know to much about the 53's.
hi jason, nice pickups on the taylor and dunderdale. i got a tom dunderdale c55 too. the cards are really great especially the taylor which is pretty good for a 6. how many other hall of famers do you have in c55's. your renewing my interest in c55's.
I've got most of the hall of famers albeit in weak grades. I don't have a Vezina but I haven't really been trying for one.
I don't have any commons yet but I sort of decided to go for this set when I realized that I had gotten a number of Hall of Famers in it while I was working on my HOF compilation.
