"closies" was when you would throw a selected amount of cards to the wall and the person that got a card the closest at the end of the game would win all the cards.
"freebies",my personal favourite, was when someone finished a series or set of a card year and no longer needed there doubles to trade so they would scream "freebies" and the kid would throw all the cards in the air and i would be the first to pick them up,LOL.
we called kill it knockdowns . my personal favorite was closies. i remember finishing my 71 set and then yelling scramble and throwing all my dupes in the air.after i did that i then wondered WHY did i do that.
That's the exact name we called it by...... and my favorite of the card games.... created large pots(winnings)....
another game that created large pots was toppies, where the object of the game was to land your card on one of the prevously thrown cards......
reboundies was the opposite of closies/furthies.... the object of the game was to bounce your card off the wall further from the player you wre playing against ..... not good for the card corners.....
scramble would happen when the recess bell would ring for any games in progress.... it was a free for all......
