i drove down to the montreal card show this october 24-26 weekend with a friend.
picked up some great deals.
finally got my 1923-24 V145-1 morenz rookie card,a very solid vg-ex grade with only a few tiny creases along the border area *$500* canadian, very happy

also picked up a very solid vg-ex to exmt+ 1953-54 parkhurst set *$1220* canadian, most cards do not have a crease!

great deals to be had there with some vintage cards and many 1951 to 1989 cards.
i'd say it was worth the trip.

What a deal on the Morenz. Looks great in the scan. Congrats on the pick-up. Are you going to leave it raw or have it graded.

i will be leaving the card raw as i collect ungraded cards. the card would grade a psa 3 minumum or a psa 4 maximum. i think it is a solid vg-ex card IMO as it just has 2 small hairline creaes along the white border and it does have light corner wear, the picture is very clean though and the back of the card is clean too.
i plan to keep the card for a very long time but when the time comes to sell it in the far future,i will grade the card before i sell it.

Wow--Great deal on the Morenz! That is one of the cards that I hope to find some day too!

It's always nice to hear about someone getting a deal on such a great card!
