GAI grading standards for wax packs

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has noticed a sharp decline in the quality of grading of wax packs.I am seeing too many hockey wax packs geting slabbed in the new GAI holders with 9's and 9.5's.These packs are off centered wrinkled etc. These would be 8's and 8.5's just a few yrs ago.
I know of a guy who sent a full box of 80-81 opc hockey in and every pack got 9 or 9.5 and they don't look as sharp as many of my 8's from the same yr
Any feedback would be appreciated
Thanks

GAI

I sent my collection in when GAI first started doing them. I was very picky in the packs I picked and usually had the pick from full boxes. I sent in about 100 packs and they all came back 7.5-8.5. I have since purchased packs with off set wrappers, wrinkles and corner wear that are graded 9's. There way easier now.

Do yourself a favour and get them done by PSA. Steve Hart is there authenticator and he is really great. He does not assign the grade tho as he also sells packs and that would be a conflict. PSA does grade harder for sure.

There are a million horror stories about GAI. They are encapsulating resealed cello packs from years hockey wasnt even poduced in cello for example because they have no one there anymore that knows what they are doing.

Great stuff.I must say I am not a fan of PSA's holders
I have many 79-80 opc wax packs that have gum tears in them because the PSA holder allows the gum to move and tear the wrapper
What do you think of that perspective?
Thanks

jon i used to collect wax packs a few years back but i recently gave up and sold all my wax packs because i got turned off by the bad grading and reputation this GAI company had with packs.

they have always been inconsistent in grading packs and there decline in grading packs over the past few years has made the wax packs come down in price overall.

there has also been alot of packs discovered in the GAI holders that were resealed packs! when i heard about that i said to myself "i'm out" and sold every wax pack i once owned! i have seen many GAI graded packs with tears/open seals/worn corners etc...etc... get high grades and it just makes the packs that really deserve the high grades look bad.

bottom line---i do not think GAI is doing that great in business these days so they are just handing out high grades like candy so people will send more packs in again.

just my 2 Cents.
