1975 OPC and TOPPS in the same packs!

I recently purchased a set of 1975-76 hockey cards from the original owner who kept them from his childhood. The set contains a mix of both Topps and OPC. When I asked him how he had both versions he told me he bought the packs at a corner store in B.C. He insists that the packs contained cards from both companies. I have had hybrid sets of this year before so there must be some logic to this but this does not hold true for other years when I have purchased similar collections. Can anyone else shed some light on this subject?

mike maybe the variety store he bought the packs from just mixed the opc with the topps packs.
back in the day as they got short on one product they would just throw those packs in the opc or topps disply box depending on which packs would sell quiker.
i know that opc never mixed topps cards with opc cards as in london they would never print the topps hockey cards.

also mike, it is getting kind of rude that you keep posting a general "BUYING VINTAGE CARDS - Any Condition! (Mike C.)" ad all the time.
the BUY/SELL/TRADE AREA is for specific needs of cards or specific things for sale, not ADVERTISING.
you can post your ad on kijiji.
i go on the B/S/T once a day and noticed that you repost your BUYING VINTAGE CARDS over and over again.how would you like it if i or others did that every few days?

Hi Mike,
The very first 1975-76 OPC set I collected had both Topps and OPC cards in it. I was 13 and living in Vancouver at the time. I can't remember if there were Topps and OPC packs available as I was too young to pay attention. Hope this helps a bit.

Rob
