I know that this subject has been discussed in the past, but not with BVG cards. I have crossed SGC cards to PSA with no problems. The grade almost always stayed the same. I tried KSA, but did not have good luck.
Has anyone crossed BVG cards over to PSA? Do they usually cross at an equal grade, or do they usually drop in grade?
Earl, take a look at the BVG cards that were in the Classic auction. They were OPC cards but had no rough cuts at all. Obviously sheet cut and would not cross over by PSA or SGC. Then you have the BVG Gretzky OPC rookie in the same auction that had the rough cuts that would indicate it was not sheet cut. Definitely take a card by card approach when crossing over BVG cards since they are probably sheet cut and cracking out a BIG card and having it come back as not gradeable would be a huge waste of money. Good luck if you choose to do this, but I would not recommend it with BGS/BVG. PSA and SGC crossovers would be your best bet for keeping the same grade.
hi earl, i don't know if this means anything but the jean beliveau rc sgc 96 was crossed to bvg 9 before it was sold to me since another customer who was interested in the card wanted a bvg grade. when i bought the card i was going to have Brian at BMW take away the bvg grade from the holder, but he said to leave it there since bvg is suppose to be strict on corner grading. so i still have the card graded by both services. good luck on your submissions. signed fessgreg
