another mislabeled card from PSA

This one is listed on eBay by a very reputable seller, auction #120413607130.
It's a PSA 2 V145 Wm Paterson King Clancy card. The problem is, it's not his 1923-24 RC, but rather his 1924-25 2nd year card. I have Bobby and the VHC book to thank for knowing this!! David

Mislabeled Card

I think a lot of this has to do with what you put on the PSA from that you send in with the card. If you list it as a 1923 Wm. Patterson card, it's very possible that PSA won't catch it since the 1923 and 1924 cards look so much alike. Unfortunately, there is a big difference between Clancy's rookie and his 2nd year card. They really should catch something like that.

Considering who is selling the card, I would expect that it was an honest mistake. That being said, I wouldn't want to end up with the wrong card due to a clerical error at PSA!

I e-mailed the seller right after he listed the card explaining that it's the wrong year and he has not answered my e-mail. There will be a very angry buyer if he pays high for it, but he should also know better as a buyer from the scan.

I, too, notified the seller, but he is at the Toronto show. He is supposed to respond on Monday-we'll see.

you would think that the premier dealer in Canada

wouldn't make this mistake.....or am I mistaken in my assumption?

Seller stopped the auction and informed me he has sent the card back to PSA for relabelling. I believe this to be true, so I think that ends that. David
