vintage hockey postcard questions

Hi-
I recently acquired the postcard scanned below and I was wondering if this board might be able to help with the following questions I have pertaining to it. First, here is the text that I can make out on the front of the postcard:
Below picture: Canadian Sports Hockey
To the left of picture: Imperal Series No 395 The Picture Postcard Co. Ottawa

Questions:
1. Is this postcard from 1905? That is my guess based on the postmark but I wanted to make sure the 05 did not stand for the month.
2. Are there any other early hockey postcards from this company or others?
3. Any idea what game is being depicted on the card? Teams?
4. Any idea where the arena was (and more information about it) that is depicted on this card?
5. Any further information folks could provide about this postcard would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

That is a famous picture that I have seen a number of times. I'm sure that someone else can confirm this, but I think that is a picture of the first Stanley Cup final. It definitely looks to be a very old postcard, but I can't swear to the age. That picture was used on postcards for many years, so it won't necessarily correspond to the date of the game.

Hopefully someone else will have more info for you.
Good Luck!

Thanks Earl! I really appreciate the information. I will research the stanley cup angle and see what I can uncover. If anyone else has any information, please feel free to post.

Montreal's Amateur Athletic Association, winners of the 1st Stanley Cup, are playing a match in Montreal's Victoria Rink in 1893 against a unnamed opponent. The MAAA's logo of a wheel with a wing inspired their nickname, the Winged Wheelmen.
The 10,000 square foot rink opened in 1862 but was not designed for ice hockey but for pleasure and skating. As a result, spectators crowded the edge of the ice, with no protection from flying pucks.

Charlton has it listed as 75.00 in EXMT condition. Only a guide and worth what ever someone is willing to pay.

Thank you for the information guys! I thought it was odd that there was no separation between the fans and the ice and what was written above makes perfect sense. I really appreciate the information!

Here are three different postcard examples using the same original picture. The one I have that is similar to yours is postmarked 1904. The other black and white is postmarked 1909 and the colour one is unused. The colour postcard confirms that the match is from the Victoria Rink in Montreal.
