HERE IS HOW TO TELL A REAL FROM A FAKE WITH THE OPC GRETZKY ROOKIE. THE FAKES COME IN A FEW TYPES, THE FIRST TYPE IS VERY EASY TO TELL- WAYNE IS MISSING A PRINTERS DOT ON HIS LEFT SHOULDER. THE SECOND REPRINT IS A LITTLE HARDER TO TELL, ITS GOT A PRINTERS DOT BUT IF YOU LOOK AT THE ICE BESIDE GRETZKY'S SKATES YOU'LL SEE TINY BLUE AND RED SPECS- THE REAL CARDS HAVE ONLY THE TINY BLUE SPECS.
then you should ask why it isn't slabbed already....go on ebay, and look for an example that is graded with a nice scan....then you can see the print dot and possibly the rough cut edges...
I think from we see on the scan, a psa 5 would be the greatest possible grade. Since surface is really hard to tell from a scan, i would say more a psa 4 for top right corner ( which seem the most damaged) and some stain or light scuff on front about half inch North-East from his head. Still an an authentic one with typical OPC rough cut on left side edge. Centering is great. Does it has the douple light blue print on the back? If i would have to grade it, it would be a 4.5. If you can get 125-175$USD, you should sell it. Hope it helps. Have a good day.
