70-71 OPC Selby - No Trade

Hi,

This is my first time at the website and the topics are very stimulating. I don't know if this website is used in helping to collect cards, but I have been pulling out whatever hair I have left in trying to locate one card to complete my set. I've been looking for the Brit Selby card #111 without the trade caption on the front. I've seen it in the Topps series, but not in the OPC cards out there in the market. I had no trouble finding the Redmond variation as well as the Orr variation with and without the Howe listing on the back. I think I've exhausted every search engine and have contacted at least 50 card dealers direct. Is there anyone out there who may be able to give me a tip as to where I may find this elusive card? I apologize to all if I am misusing this website. Thanks for being patient with me.

here is an old thread about that card that was discussed here.

http://www.network54.com/Forum/381767/message/1173444299/Brit+Selby+No+Trade

bobby had one that was graded an 8 a few years back, cant remember exactly what he got for it but i think it has $400. i have seen only a couple on ebay selling between $300-$400 and that was 5 years ago.
it has been asked a few times here on the forum if anyone would like to sell that card.
very tough to find and if you do find one the price will be high (if the dealer knows what he has).
i have one in my collection but it would take a lot of money to scoop my nrmt-mint one off of me.

also are you aware of the Jacques Laperriere all star card having two differnet backs, one with notations on the back of the Perreault puzzle and one without,
like the gordie howe puzzle which has the bobby orr card with 2 different backs, the laperriere card does as well.

70-71 OPC SELBY-NO TRADE

Thanks for the update, I think. I had a hunch that this card was a rarity, or even if it really existed, like that infamous '68 McCreary card with no number. Well, I'll just have to keep stopping at the local garage sales and hope that someone has one mixed in with a bunch of old cards. That is how I got my '52 Horton rookie card.
