Hello
I am in the painful and slow process of selling a bunch of commons and other low valuable collectibles and using the proceeds to invest in high graded
Bobby Orr cards....my hockey hero since I was a kid.

If anyone would kindly provide any advice before I begin this journey I would appreciate it.

In terms of acquiring cards is in better to buy OPC vs Topps?
Have Orr Cards held their values?
Any other advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Ron

Hi Ron,

The OPC versions will cost you more than the Topps version because high grade examples are much harder to come by in OPC, and thus carry a premium.

I can tell you from experience that you will encounter a lot of competition on high grade Orr cards, especially Orr cards from the 60's as there are quite a few collectors trying to complete the Orr master set on the PSA registry, and high grade Orr's simply don't come up very often.

As for holding their value, there is always a demand for cards of Orr, Howe, Hull, etc., so you are pretty much assured you could always get your money back if you decided to sell later on.

Good luck with your collection.

especially rookie cards.....even lower grades like PSA 4 ($1000) ...keep their values.....a PSA 8 is about $6000 US if you can find them

I have a very nice 1967 #92 in PSA 8 that I may post in the buy/sell section one of these days....

I also have duplicates of his 1969 OPC cards including this one on ebay now....(shill, shill)

he looks great in any grade...you may want to think about mid grades, rather than PSA 8's and 9's depending on your budget...
