Everyone getting tired of all the Buy It Now listings.
Good news, i just got this email from Ebay.

Seller fee update coming this Spring:

"List Auction-style FREE, any start price, all the time. Add Buy It Now FREE."

Starting April 19, Standard Auction-style fees will be changing for non-store subscribers. If you don't own an eBay store, you'll be able to list FREE at any start price--up to 50 items a month and Auction-style Final Value Fees will apply to the total amount of the sale (including shipping). You will also be able to add the Buy It Now option FREE to grab those buyers who don't want to wait for your listing to end. In short, you can now list even your higher priced items free--pay only if it sells.

It is going to be great to see more open auctions,
I know the Buy It Now guys will still list there stuff high but at least there will be more open auctions.

What do you guys think will happen with this change.

I actually think it will cause more buy it now type listings. Anyone can list 50 items at any price with a free bin. I think you'll see stuff like: starting price $99, bin $110.
And what's up with charging fees on the shipping??

Jim.

Free Listings

I agree with Jim. It will create more buy it now listings but should increase overall open listings.

Also eBay does alot of business on lower ticket items. By charging fees based on shipping costs they basically get there old listing fee for item under $10.00? (Not 100% sure of their fee table anymore)

$3.00 (average cost?) x 9% = $0.27 by duping sellers into thinking listing is free. This hopefully also intices the seller to charge fair shipping.

They always have an angle.

I am so tired of all the "Buy it now" listings that I usually eliminate them even before I look for cards that I want. Ted
