1985 Box Bottoms August 19 2011 at 4:40 PM Anonymous (Login marcnitka)
Does anyone here have the Lemieux or Gretzky ? Topps ? OPC ?
Trying to find one in mint condition is like trying to find a PSA 9
1955 Quaker Oats card. Would love to know the availability of this
stuff north of the border. Thanks. Author Reply Nathanael (Login frozencaribou)

Here's the closest thing to a 9 I have. The box bottoms from 85-90 are my favorite 80's issues by far. I think the topps versions are much scarcer than the OPC versions. OPC made sheets of the box bottoms between 1986 and 1988, so I think over the long run there will be more that will surface in PSA holders as long as there is a significant monetary incentive to do so.
The 85 boxes are almost all pressure creased from the edges running toward the center of the box. It is tough to get any cards beyond a 6.

Thanks Grant. Let me start with the 85's. Please send me scans of what you have for 1985 to begin with. Topps or OPC, doesn't really matter to me.
Please send scans to email@example.com
Nice Gretzky. I'm guessing that's not for sale ? Is it 100% certain that
85's did not come in sheets too ? I'm guessing that Topps never came
out with factory sheets for any years ? Just a guess.
Thanks for the info guys.

Here's a nice card with two rough cuts on both sides. Surely came from a wax pack long time ago. Nicely centered as well.
I will trade this for Nathanael's PSA 8 Gretzky, or Grant's KSA Gretzky &
Gretzky Bottom. This Orr is probably a 175-200 US card in value.

Now I have a bunch of 1980's uncut boxes For Sale. All in nice shape but not all the cards would be suitable for having cut for grading.
6-1986-87 OPC Boxes(Can be expensive due to the blank back Roy RC on each one and they look minty)
1-1986-87 Topps Box
3- 1987-88 OPC
1- 1987-88 Topps
13- 1988-89 Topps
2- 1988-89 OPC
7- 1989-90 OPC
I also have a lot of display boxes from other years that don't have box bottom cards. 1982-83, 83-84 and 84-85. Ask for pics if interested. Taking offers.

Great. August 25 2011, 7:09 PM
Grant. I am glad you are happy with the offer. A nice Bobby Orr is always a good addition to any inventory.
Please give me first look at who is on the bottom of the 86 and 87 topps wax box and their condition. thanks, marc

BTW, if I had seen this proposal earlier I would have done it too. Good work, guys. It isn't all about selling.

Is your Gretzky for sale ? If not, will this do in trade ?
