really, if he gets any money for that, it just proves someone out there has too much money (ala henderson's jersey, etc)

First of all, I question that a stick actually sold for that amount. This is always quoted but all that happened for sure is someone listed a stick on ebay for a ridiculous amount.

Someone called me earlier this year with a similar stick, they offered it to me at what they thought was a no brainer price of $250000, which they felt was a steal compared to that one. Good stuff!!

I can almost guarantee that an auction house like Classic gets a bunch of calls every year about items like this. There is a reason that the items never end up there. The owners would rather snow an uninformed reporter from a small town then put it on the open market.

Dan-- comparing a piece like this to the Henderson jersey is so wrong in so many ways!! If there is one item that truly reflects what hockey means to Canadian culture, that would be it!!

at least I was alive in 1972,and witnessed that game via 12" black and white tv in school.
