1951-52 Parkie set

Hey guys.
I picked up a 1951-52 Parkhurst set minus Gordie Howe and Sid Smith for $1000.
Condition ranges from GD-VG+ with a few EX (in my opinion)
I'm attaching a few pics for an idea of condition. Fronts and backs.
Many have varying issues including writing, creases, staining and a few with paper loss but I couldn't pass up this near set.
What do you guys think? Did I pay too much? I plan on upgrading the worst condition cards especially the ones with writing or paper loss.

my opinion

Hi Dave. Nice pickup but I would grade them fair to good and some are poor. However I have never sold a card so what the hell do I know. If you bought them as a collection then you paid exactly what they are worth to you. If you bought them as an investment maybe not so good. If the howe was there then you did well. Again just the opinion of a guy who has never sold a card. I don't think you will lose money but you may not be able to buy that private jet either. LOL Again just the opinion of a guy who has never sold a card.

Thanks Bill
I know, some are really bad but I'm hoping I did okay over all.
I don't have them yet, so these pics are all I have to go by.
I'll know better when I see them.

you did ok

You bought 103/105 cards of a classic set and paid about $10 at card. You paid a little over 10% of the value of this set in NM condition. I think you did ok. The cards are in poor-VG condition, IMO. Did you make a killing? No. But you did alright, I believe. Could Capsports sell this set for over $1,000? Probably("Near-complete set, Condition Nice" LOL)!
