I picked this up recently is it the "unconfirmed" beehive? I checked in my hockey palyers complete list and he only played for the leafs so what would the unconfirmd one look like? Seems like a stupid question but if he only played for one ream why is it listed 3 times in beckett? Please help me out

I don't have anything that lists beehives but I'm pretty sure Buzz Boll is a common and not unconfirmed or even tough to find. Jim.

I know he is a common but he is also listed in any becket guide as unconfirmed #3 from group 1, later in that same group he is listed as a common #301. My question is how would you know if you have an unconfirmed Buzz Boll? Thanks for the reply and I am sure someone on here will be able to clear this up. There is a ton of knowledge here. Of course the easiest answer is if someone has a different photo then mine one of the two is the unconfirmed one. Ah but which one?

Unconfirmed Boll would be in a Bruins uniform.
Beckett listed Beehives group 1 by teams and then by players' name within a team, so first go Boston players, then Chicago, Detroit, and so on.... Maple Leafs are at the end of the list.

Missed a key point

As I said in my first post Buzz Boll only played for one team. He was recruited by Con Smyth right out of the minors. He only played for the Leafs so apparently the Boston and Americans listings are errors or they are two more versions of the Leafs photo. Thanks for all your help Elmar but I already knew how they are listed in Beckett.

Here is an update....my info is wrong he played for boston and both the Americans teams (brooklyn and New-york) Guess I wasted $60 for a complete player list with thier playing stats and personal info.

Wikpedia is the place to go from now on.

Thanks guys !!!
So my Beehive is not special to anyone but me.....It makes me smile as any new aquisition I have does. Tip of the hat to you guys....again you humble me with your knowledge.

WOW I never even noticed that there are so many unconfirmed Beehives. My beckett list doesnt even number them.

Thanks again for the list I have printed it off and now I am on a quest to find at least one before I die LOL

I've never been a beehive guy but this is what I will add to the conversation on unconfirmed beehives.

Years ago there were certain dealers, one in particular, who would contribute to info/price gathering guides like Beckett. They would offer up bogus info that there "may" be certain beehives out there. Beckett would put out an unconfirmed list. Amazingly, a few months later, the same dealer that is the "contributor" would make an amazing find of 3-4 unconfirmed beehives and sell them for a large sum of money. This went on for years. Fast forward to the internet age.................they're all fake.

Jim.

Wikipedia is not bad place but over the years I've found and corrected a few errors, so I'd prefer the Internet Hockey Database.

Check this out Bill -
